Meet the people who make up the FRESH TRAYS Team

Alice Kirk, MPH

Alice Kirk is an Extension Program Specialist and has been with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension for over 25 years. She provides leadership for the development, implementation, and evaluation of Extension educational programs throughout all Texas counties. Alice provides oversight to various Extension grant initiatives statewide. She is also currently serving as the Principal Investigator for the FRESH TRAYS program, a 3-year TDA grant funded by the U.S.D.A focused on Farm to School.

Alice serves as a conduit between research-based best practices and Extension educational programs. She has a B.S. degree in Community Health from Texas A&M University and a Master of Public Health, with a concentration in Social and Behavioral Health, from Texas A&M University – School of Public Health.

Alice’s passion lies in serving as an educator and a servant leader. She is dedicated to county agents, schools, and community leaders to build partnerships that lead to effective and sustainable change in the health of Texas communities.

Meredith Cryer, Training & Outreach Coordinator

Meredith Cryer is the Training and Outreach Coordinator for the FRESH TRAYS program within the Family and Community Health Unit of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. With over 15 years of dedicated experience as a Family and Community Health County Extension Agent across the state of Texas, Meredith brings a deep understanding of the unique needs of diverse communities. She recognizes the critical role that county agents play in identifying local priorities and equipping producers and residents with practical solutions and resources tailored to their environments.

Meredith holds a bachelor’s degree in Business with a focus on Human Sciences from Tarleton State University and a master’s degree in Family and Community Health from Sam Houston State University. Driven by the belief encapsulated in her favorite quote, “A rising tide lifts all ships,” she is passionate about empowering Texas communities through accessible, needs-based educational opportunities that foster knowledge and resilience.

Sharon Faries, Program Coordinator

Sharon Faries serves as a Program Coordinator at Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service within the Family and Community Health unit, where she leads the FRESH TRAYS Farm to School initiative. With a degree in Biochemistry from Texas A&M University and over 20 years of experience in project coordination, management, marketing, and business, Sharon brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Her passion for helping others, particularly children, shines through her strong networking abilities and dedication to making a positive impact.
